Cadlag — Cadlag Live Tape. { 2 live performances: available on cassette, VHS and on 5-inch reel tape }

{ Upon all that is 'natural' the sound emerges as a phantom.
Articulation of various sounds is misinterpretation of their own meaning.
Phantom is the immaterial residual of the given material at hand - its incision, like the signifier, suspends the world and holds it to our listening-gaze. The presupposition of what is spoken of, presupposes the existence of the Other - confronted with the question of its origin, source of sound, its spatial-temporal location.
Tiny crack/miniscule noise, almost insignificant, yet able to produce massive effect, forms the paranoid frame of the omnipresent attack from the invisible source of coming momentum. The omnipresent beast of Sound 'descends' upon our auditory perception - created on the borders of two poles between in/out, its topology 'self-reflected' and convoluted into the lines of the ear's spiral shape, it twists around and permeates the whole body down to the bones.
Infundibulum becomes this convoluted space, region where fiction and reality overlap, where wakefulness and sleep dis/connect for a second, where the sound is heard and its source drifts further away. What remains is the ocular force/speculum that embodies the sound, gives to it its attire, while the acousmatic nature of sound remains hidden.
Both infundibulum and the speculum, the overlapping of time and space, puzzle our perception and its interpellation remains forever impossible. }
